In the past I began to investigate the double of the late German Romanticism. This paper takes the next step by expanding research on the onomastic aspect of doppelgangerism into a totally new universe. Special attention will be given to famous directors (inter alia Hitchcock, Truffaut, Fellini, Wenders, Reisz, Bu.uel, Bergman, Kieślowski, Antonioni, Resnais) who also dedicated themselves to the sinister and disturbing character of the doppelganger from a philosophical, psychological, psychoanalytical and anthropological point of view, drawing inspiration from works of literature. Different stages of de-individualisation are often expressed by those names chosen for them by the author.
