Abstract
This paper focuses on the names of rebellious characters found in children’s literature during the first half of the twentieth century. The choices relating to the types of names attributed to characters and places are illustrated in detail, beginning with the works of Enrico Novelli, writing under the pen name of Yambo,creator of Ciuffettino, the protagonist of a successful series of novels for childre.
