Il qarantotto di Leonardo Sciascia. Un ‘emeronimo’ tra storia e antistoria

Abstract

This paper looks at the various meanings of the title Il quarantotto, which may be defined as an ‘emeronym’, or proper name consisting in a date, which acts as a ‘designator of events’, capable in itself of evoking a whole series of ideological and commemorative connotations. In this case, the title shows the ideolog-
ical, thematic and perspective complexity of Sciascia’s vision of the history of the Risorgimento.
